Hotrodbob; yeah, kinda disappointing Ford display. I guess they think the Mustang is the only car of interest that they made. Go figure! I see you are a Falcon enthusiast. I am also, and I am always looking for a new car. I sold a '62 a few months back, and want a '64 or '65 for my next project. Living here in Atlanta, they are few and far between. Take care,

    Earl

    HOTRODBOB,

Let us know how it fits. I got one about 15 years ago & it was too long. The contoured ends did not match up with my gravel pan - the spoiler stood away from the pan on the ends a little bit.
I just left it like that - I didn't feel like cutting the spoiler & glassing it back together again.

    Thanks!
    :)

Hopefully I will get some quality time with my cars this weekend and I'll let you know how it fits.

Tried to attach the spoiler this weekend, but it didn't come close to fitting. Tried calling MAS today, but all I get is a busy signal. I'll keep trying and let ya know the results.

    Ill-fitting Spoiler

    Well Bob,
I guess they haven't improved it since I bought it in '87 or so. That's a shame. I hope they take good care of you somehow.

    Good Luck!

This time I tried to get the spoiler on without my son helping me. IT FITS!

What I did was clamp it on with a pair of spring loaded clamps. Centered it, and drilled the center hole. This had a bolt fot the core support center brace. Then I went out about a foot from center and attached the right then the left and worked out from there. Glass settles and the spoiler was a little off, but nothing a little light bending with the attachment bolts couldn't correct. I used sheet metal screws on the ends and it fits just fine. It looks as good as I expected. I went slot car racing and drove the Maverick. As I was parking one of the other guys drove up with a restored Boss 302 stang. Both cars were Grabber Blue. It looked like a Ford ad. Little brother Maverick with big brother the BOSS.

I didnt know any of these tracks were still around. I used to build and race these back in the mid 60's. It was a blast.

I'll try and take a photo of the spoiler and figure how to post it or I'll e-mail it to ya to night when I get home.

On the slot car track, the old cars won't work on the new stuff. The new stuff uses plastic tracks and the cars are all plastic, but detailed like a model. I have a 50 foot track in my workshop. My favorite car is the Parnelli Jones '70 Mustang trans am racer.

Check out these websites: www.fantasyworldhobbies.com, www.scalextric-usa.com

We have a group that races for a championship twice a month. From Rally cars to F1 and vintage GT like GT40's, Lola's, etc. My younger son worked at a hobby store in the mall here in Burbank and they have 2 tracks. One is 150 of racing area and the other is about 90 feet of racing on a rally course with snow and everything, mountains, etc. The rally track is 4 lane and the road course is 6 lane.

On the Scalextric site go to "Dealer Directory", click on California on the map, scroll down to "Vicki's Gifts" in Burbank and click on the photos of the rally track.

Thanks for the info. It brings back fond memories. We had a track that raced 8 cars at a time.

Hey, mavaholic, I'm gonna be back in Baltimore on business in November. Maybe we can touch base when I'm there. I'll be staying in the inner harbor area.
