Frustrating Day & Didn't Make it to the Strip

The weather was near perfect and although it had rained the night before
about 3/4 hours of racing put a nice surface on the track..............I was so frustrated that day if I hadn't gone inside to have a "drink or two", I could have put a For Sale Sign it!

 

OK, I finally got the Maverick to the strip.......................Although I only made two passes I had a blast! After being absent for some 25 years things have not changed all that much..............except with the Pro Tree,
ended the day with a blown lower radiator hose and no didn't get on the track but blew on the return road.......................I can't wait to get back
to the track again..........................I need more "office time" in the car, but it was more than I could have ever hoped for!

 

My 2nd time out this year I never made it down the track. I was sick and worked on the motor all night. Seems it wasn't the gas filter after all. Went home and didn't look at the car for 2 weeks. Did a pressure test and found no pressure in cylinders 3 and 4. Blew the head gasket. Did make it out last week and had a 12.30 run. This week is Firebird where I run .3 faster so I should be right at the class limit. Glad you had fun. That's what it's all about.

Went to test and tune last weekend at samoa dragstrip. Made 1 pass in my 351C powered Comet,run like crap,2nd pass sheared the pin on my distributor. Had a new one with me , stuck it in went out ran perfect 11.15. Back in business for the start of our racing season next weekend.

 

A bunch of guys from Redding are talking about going to Samoa, maybe I can tag along.
Maybe see you out there.
