Mine will just be getting switched 12V from the ignition switch, and will only be triggering a couple of small 30 amp relays, so very very little power will actually be going through it. So hopefully it wouldn't burn out. Plus the car it came from had 468,000 miles, which is pretty common for those old Police Interceptors. I guess it would have already burned out if it were going to.

I used the stock feed up to the break under the driver door were I connected it with a peice of 3/8 hand bent line with fuel injection rubber hose and clamps on the connections then the factory FI plastic lines to the rail.As for the return I used the Stock vent line (rebent by hand and cut to suit my needs) that went to the cannister in the engine bay and replaced the rubber length at the tank with 5/16 Fuel injection hose and appropriate clamps I had to drill out the fitting were it goews into the tank but it was no big deal.I mounted my pump (Truck frame mounted) on the frame above the sending unit once again connected using a mixed plethora of stock fittings and plastic line (filter to pump) with 3/8 fuel injection hose fedding the filter. As for the venting issues I added a 3/8 vent tube to the factory filler neck (had to knotch the rear panel) but not noticable with the neck installed.
