The mav is gone but i'm still here!
I have a portable gas tank that did that,it was flat on the grounf and i pulled the lever to vent it,then a bunch of gas poured out,it didnt have a vent and it was like 90 outside. I think the gas expanded since i filled it up in the cool morning.

My 75 has it...i also saw a 74 LDO that had it.

My '74 doesn't have an unleaded neck, either.

They are whipping it up like butter to make you think you are getting $3.00 a gallon's worth! ;)

Never thought of using the unleaded filler neck. Ok, anyone have a couple for sale? My '63 Ranchero needs one too.

Apparently not quite all of them. The '75 Comet I parted out last year didn't have it. It seems that if there was anything consistent about Ford at the time, it's that they were inconsistent. :D

Be careful when swapping necks from different years. I noticed a difference in the position of the slots that accept the gas cap. I tried to use an older cap on a newer neck and although the cap would tighten, the Maverick emblem did not line up properly. This is more of an aesthetic issue than anything, but it drove me crazy until I got hold of a deluxe gas cap that lined up properly. By the way, gas is $1.85 here :yikes: and we're not allowed to pump it ourselves.

That's it I'm moving back to NJ! I paid $2.87 in Burbank and $2.18 in Detroit last week.

Oh wait. I get to drive my Maverick almost every week end all year round and we don't have to shovel smog in the winter and rust is only something I read about.

Still wish we paid less for gas.

I guess I've never heard of anywhere that you're not allowed to pump gas. I guess that's what I get for spending my whole like in Oklahoma.

Can't pump your own gas in Oregon, either. At least last time I checked.

In The Des Moines Area I have been paying $1.95 for 2 weeks, We live close to a small town just south of DM called Indianola, My wife has been paying $1.90 At Walmart, using a Gift Card, they give 5 cents off per gallon. It's a great way to budget gas, she puts her 2 weeks gas budget on a Walmart Card, then I put mine on a gift card from a the Local Grocery Store close to where I work, They give a 3 cent discount per gallon when you show a grocery receipt, It works out very well, in all the Gas price increase we never paid more than 3.05 per gallon. It's good to see gas prices falling.

Gas prices are going down because of the elections...

I bet you anything they'll start going up after they're done.
