I changed out the tranny fluid and filterS (yes, pluaral) on SusieQ's Durango. I also added a tranny cooler. 'Changed the engine oil and filter. Also changed the air filter. Washed the FILTHY engine down (I don't know where SusieQ is taking that thing but the nearest dirt road is a 50 miles from home .... and don't answer that qestion ). Gotta balance and rotate the tires tomorrow. Pick up the trailer Tuesday. Install the connector and brake controller Wednesday (cart b4 horse icon goes here). Everybody got their vehicles ready (especially the Tow vehicles)?
I replaced the A/C compressor on the truck yesterday (tried to replace the accumulator, but gave up after an hour fighting with the 'A/C line tool' for an hour in cramped quarters . Picked up the trailer today, and the brakes started acting funny on the way home... gotta get that checked out pronto. I don't have time for problems!
took the car out of the trailer today and did a few last minute things to it, then put it back and tied it down. trucks all fueled up and ready to go. gotta load a few other things and wash the truck and trailer. then head out first thing sunday morning. i'm really looking forward to this. :bananaman
Agree But this will make my 3rd trip to Owensboro this year for the Round-up.....at 240 (+-) miles round trip ......I guess it will actually take me 700 miles to get there :evilsmile
Frank: "Strong Like Bull. Smart Like Tractor" ...or.. "WTB: 2002 Dodge Durango Rear Hatch" Update July 28th: Susie and I got here a day early. We only spent one day/night in Nashville. We did the Second Street tour that night and decided to head to Owensboro the next day. Nashville's a fun town. My Maverick's trip down the track went pretty much as expected - spitting/sputtering/banging/back-firing/blowing smoke-rings, etc. The main problem, I believe, is that my one-wire alternator isn't putting out enough current to allow the EECIV to do its job. Oh well, I'll figure it out and try it again in Houston. ------------------------ THE INFAMOUS INCIDENT: With the battery being dead, rain coming, track closing, etc., all the MCCI members that were left pushed my car onto my trailer - of which THE HITCH HAD NOT BEEN LOCKED DOWN! As the car goes onto the ramps, up comes tongue of the trailer - and then the tongue of the trailer into the back of Susies's Durango! AWWWWW!!! I really don't think Frank meant to do it and I've already accepted his silent apology. Thanks for all the help last night, guys! --------------- Even with the "incident", it's great to be here and finally meet all the fine people from the MCCI. They're all class acts. 'Not sure what all is happening today (I gotta go ask Frank - he knows everything ). Of those that couldn't make it, 'sorry we missed ya.
Ha! No, it wasn't the crooked seat. It was 'one of them thangs'. I didn't check to make sure the sleeve enveloped the latch correctly. 'Not going to let the ordeal ruin a good time. Susie and I went to the "International Bluegrass Museum" just up the street. We passed on the Orchard thing (actually, I fell asleep in the room and didn't wake up in time for the trip). Well, the MCCI meeting is going to take place here in a little bit. I probably should go get something to eat now before the meeting starts - all the kitchens in Owensboro will probably be closed by the time Frank stops flapping his gums. (that's one, Frank )
