most dynos have a...sniffer and/or an O2 sensor...
...all my exhaust systems have a bung installed just for the dyno...

this dyno thing is a lot simplier than you make it out to be...:yup:

just have fun...it only lasts untill it hits 5500-6000 RPMs...(5-8 secs)....:thumbs2:

    6500-7000

I typically shift at 6500. I may do a run higher if the numbers haven't flattened out or started to decline at 6500.

Another reason I want to dyno it. I may be shifting too late for my car, but I won't know until I run it and get a readout. Also, will help in deciding what stall I need.

At this point, it looks like the weather is going to hold out for a Friday dyno visit!!!

Best dyno you can get man is the track! Id get the a/f ratio close and go to the track. There you'll figure out the shift points. The numbers really wont tell whats best anyway as far as shift points. It will just give you an idea where you need to be for best power as far as timing and a/f.

I spent close to $700 at the dyno shop and I can't complain because I went from 141hp to 183 which is awesome in my opinion, and they fixed my detonation problem. They ended up having to replace my coil for some reason so that's included in my price. So I think a couple runs on the dyno can be pretty helpful. Make sure you get the print outs after each run and write on there what changes you made, really helps a lot.

Make sure you have a full tank of gas and that your cooling system is up to par. I would like to proclaim that I know diddly do da but still want to guess at your HP . . . 225hp

Guess all you want guys, then after I get the actual numbers, I will "modify" the sheets to match the numbers from the guy that can shower me with the most gifts and cash.

Actually, I have been known to do a contest with a cash prize.

So whoever can get closest to the actual final best numbers I will donate $20 to any charity of your choice in your name. I will post this to another thread.

Slapped in a new tach (big one with the shift light). MSD is OK. Just burned the tach gauge electronics.

Still on for Friday. Weather is supposed to be good into the weekend.

    302-72-mav...are you "dancing"?

I hope the weather holds out. I don't want to cancel a second time on the same dyno guy....

Yup, and weather is still holding out so it looks like a GO! Got new tach on and working great. Just waiting for half a day off to take it in. Got my reservation at Strictly Performance in Houston confirmed. Plus, it may be a good warm and calm weekend so we may get to take the boat out for one more trip before storage and winterization!!!

Life sometimes gets to where it seems pretty good :dancing:
