Does it get that cold where you at? I always thought that Texas was warm all year long:hmmm:

It is downright HOT most of the year. Right now, we are having a week of what I call California Weather, high 70s and low humidity during the day, low-mid 50s at night. We are lucky to get 3 or 4 weeks TOTAL of this weather in a year.

We had 2 back-to-back fronts on Friday and Saturday (why I cancelled the last week's dyno appointment) and these have given us a week of GREAT weather.

We also get a month or so of what some people call cold. Where I take off my shorts and hawaiian shirt and wear Levis and a flannel shirt, and the Texans dress in snowmobile suits. Highs in the 40s, lows around freezing. This is 30 days, but not all in one fell swoop. Maybe 3 or 5 days of cold, then back to the 60s for a week or two. then another cold sweep.

As the saying goes "If you don't like the weather in Texas, wait 10 minutes."

We also got snow last Christmas that didn't stick, then a couple years back got some that stuck for 3 days, about a foot deep. On the third day, temps back up into the 60s, so we made snowmen while wearing T-shirts and shorts...

Pics are of my house, and my parents' beach house 2 blocks off the gulf. They got about 16", and we got around 12". Christmas night of 2004. This is VERY rare. I have seen snow that sticks only 3 times since 1978 in the Houston area.

No, my parents have the nice one. Mine is the little one with the truck in the driveway. Mine is the one that you have to turn sideways to walk between my house and the neighbor's.

I haven't quite gotten there yet. I leave in an hour. I am currently reviewing this thread to make sure all the numbers are as they should be in the chart, then deleting the thread but keeping the chart. I should be back around lunch time to let everyone know how it went.

Thanks for participating and helping me prepare!
