    Fresh out of Mavericks
I was never really a Ford fan. Always wanted a 67 or 68 Camaro (not a 69!). When my wife's great-grandmother passed away and left a 74 Mav with 302 in the barn, I couldn't pass it up, but it was going to "just tide me over until I got the Camaro."

Well, in the 2 years since I have been working (slowly) on the Mav, I have had so many conversations and thumbs-up on the Mav, that I have lost interest in Camaros.

Last week, I had one of the kids I counsel in a Taco Bell, and he was playing with my keys trying to figure out which key went to which car, and I told him the plain one without the rubber went to the Maverick. An "older" lady (in case she is reading) in line in front of us said, "My mother had a 75 Maverick, and tought all of us kids how to drive in it!"

I get this everywhere I go. "My first car was a Maverick!" "My dad taught me how to drive in a Maverick!"

Yet, you don't see them hardly anywhere on the street...

I love my Maverick for the reason that it IS a MAVERICK...everyone had one, everyone loves one, and nobody HAS ONE!!!

It is a cool, and original, and RARE car!

Scooper, you hit it on the head man! My mom says she can't believe how people react to that car now days. She said they were as common on the road as a Ford Taurus or any other car for a long time, and now the guy in the service department at Wal-Mart don't even know if its a Ford or a Chevy or what it is.

You tell him its a Ford... "ohh so it's a Mustang?" :16suspect
