That red engine looks even better in person then it does in the pics! Man that is a purty engine. It will look awesome once in the car. When me and my grandpa stopped by, Dan was cleaning out the "oven" portion of the car with the Easy Off.. :rofl2:

I now clearly understand why Dan took the header back. His '74 has a heck of alot more junk on that side of the motor then mine does! :)

So far, I have racked up over 400 miles of driving since 8 AM this morning. I just got back from NC, had to take Dan's engine and the engine I got from Scrapper60 up there to store them till this time next month. I'm sure glad Terry is driving to Charlotte tomarrow so I can just sit back and enjoy the ride. (y) Then again I get to drive to back Charlotte this Thursday which should be a nice 500+ mile trip. :90:

I found an Autozone in Dawsonville that still had old stock of the Red Cap ... I just picked it up! :) The brand name of the red cap was Conrad ... the other local stores the brand was Duralast and the same part number was grey ...

What does your '74 have in the way of a header that my '77 doesn't?

With the A/C hoses and Heater hoses and the vacuum lines the passenger side of the engine compartment is pretty full ....

I'm starting to think a bigger challenge would be before Jamie can finish one. I'll have my first one finished in about 6-7 weeks. :p

At least Jamie is driving the one Terry gave up on, and have probably done more work on it in the past 6 months then Terry has done on all his cars in the last year combined. ;) Not to mention you guys started out with cars that ran and drove and were in half decent shape. :)

I started out with... well the motor hasn't ran in 12 years, but it turns by hand and the body looks decent... :90:

LOL ... today won't be very constructive though. We are gonna put the engine in but it turns out the late model 250 damper I got out of a Granada is different than the early Maverick one ... different pulleys. My original damper is now up in North Carolina so Jamie is gonna get it for me this week ... until then the Mav will sit in the garage and I'll hook up everything I can except install teh radiator and fan.

Engine is in ... Thanks Jamie ... no rush now since I won't have the damper until next Saturday ....
