I decided to dig the Maverick out today to wash off the dust and stretch its legs after it sat a few months waiting on me to get tired playing with my 63 Falcon. I decided to ride to the next town over to a cruise in to meet up with Jimmy's brother Johnny. Johnny was a no-show but I did bring home a top 10 trophy. I don't recall my Maverick getting this much attention at a show before. After backing into a parking place I turned back around and saw a crowd of people heading toward my car. I listen to all the “My Grandpa/My Friend in High School” stories that we hear all the time. I enjoyed the show and talking to a guy with a ’66 Fitch “Sprint” Corvair.

And how many times has this happened, the only time it doesnt happen is when you are at the Gathering or Round Up and everyone has a Mav or Comet.

Same thing happened to me today at a cruise in in the rain even the guy that parked me had to tell me a story, of course it started out with a Maverick that they pulled a factory installed 351 out of.

I didn't get to hear any factory Boss 302's or 4-speed or 9 inch stories today...and no "nice Nova" either. :whew:
They were 2 Edsels in the show. That was different.

"...had one just like it, but it was a 4-door, and had a 6-cylinder, and was a different color."
