what do you guys think for need for scoops... not because you need them but for guys out that that might. just debating to make them with removable scoops or scoops build in.. and if they are built in i was thinking to leave them open. thoughts?

    scoops or no scoops

I though it would be best to include the scoops and leave them open. That way those who dont have the scoops wont have to figh it out on EBAY.

I say make removable scoops with the openings. Then you could sell them seprate from the hoods for anyone wanting scoops.

One thing I alway thought was stupid was the fiberglass hoods have the scoop in and leave the seam. I would say put the scoop in with no seams, if they are not removable then why have the seam :D

it probably becuase of the mold thats why they are that way... if i did it that way they would also have the seams.. less work for me. then again it don't take much to fill it.... but also you ruin a good set of scoops filling the hood that would would mold.

    Exactly!
Scoops, no seams, non-removeable, and open holes is my .02.

    Thinking aloud...
Is there a way to fill the seam that is non-destructive?
A way that lasts only long enough to make the mold?
Can the mold be made and the seam be trimmed from the mold?

    I don't want an answer...
I am just throwing out brain food.

    I thought the same thing.
It's been alot of years since I have compared, but I am almost positive this was the case.
But the last time I suggested they were same, several posts disagreed, so I just chalked it up to poor memory.

Is the grabber hood functional for getting more air in the engine?

ive skinned both a regular hood and a grabber hood and the frame was the same except some years have a different placement where the hood prop hole is. i have installed a reg frame on a grabber hood ,perfect fit.

ok thats good to know that the frame is the same

i don't know about that... cuz if you look at most functional hood scoops they are placed way higher then the hood lines. i have seen some wind tunnel test on where air flows and to be honest the grabber hood scoops don't seem to be in the best place for air.

Would that be a complete pin on hood? Or could it hinge?
