I found a Maverick that is a 302 auto , with bucket seats and Grabber style wheels , It had stripes on the bottom that say Grabber , but it has a plane hood . Guy wants a $1000 for it , What makes it a Grabber , instead of a plain V8 car , and would I be smart to buy it and use the Bucket seats and wheels on the car I am doing { V8 auto bench seat } And sell the rest , as it is restorable ?

The third and fourth characters in the VIN should be "93" for a REAL Grabber (except 1970 Grabbers). A regular 2dr is going to be "91" and a 4dr is "92". Only 1971 and 1972 Grabbers had the dual snorkel hood. 1973 had a flat hood, but retained the rear spoiler. 1974 and 1975 were JUST a paint and stripe treatment with sport mirrors, no spoiler, no scooped hood.

If it's in better shape than the ones you have, fix the BETTER car (least rusty of the two). Would love to see some pictures. What colour is it?

All true, and '70 didn't have "the hood" either.

The year model of the car and some pics would be nice to see.

If it is a 1974...the passenger seat will not bolt into your car because the 1975 has a cat hump in it.

I agree with the others....parts car. I personally do not see a $1000 car. You have to decide if it is worth that price to get all the parts you want.

Ive bought better cars than that for $500 or less
I think they threw $1000 out there just to see if it sticks I bet they take a few hundred bucks for it
it looks like its half rotted away already anyway

Can you just buy the parts that you need from him or does he want to sell the entire car as a whole? At 1,000 he might have it for a long time

He wants to sell the car in one piece , I will try to get the price down I already bought a V8 auto 2 door for $500 and a 4 door $200 From him . The 2 door is in better shape than the grabber .

didnt the grabbers have a floor shifter??

either way I'd offer him $400... unless it was a 70-72

Nope. I thought so too until recently. Not all had the floor-shifter.
