Finally an update. I was sick this weekend but not soo bad that I couldnt get out in the garage. I finished up my ac hoses and wired it up. Tested thee fan and vent operation and ensured the relays functioned. Works great. Then installed a new toy... There is not much room left under the dash for anything. When the ac ducting/tubes are added its going to be really packed. Pedals and steering column are installed. I think they look great. My helper... Keeping me on my toes. ... and his contribution to the effort. Next weekend, the car goes up on the jack stands and out comes the steering box.
looking really good. it looks like the heater/ac lines go into the msd in that one pic. what accesory bracket kit are you using?
Nice wiring and plumbing work, actually nice car in general. But I bet the kid is the wizard behind all the work, it's ok to admit... Keep it up and good for you letting your son help out, I started with my boy young he is now 19 and doing ALL his own mod's and repairs with guidance from me of course from time to time. Dfitz
Ur lookin gud. I hope to update my fac AC B4 it gets real hot. Nice job on the hose in the fender well. I was wondering why 4 hose in the well? Are 2 for heater? How heater hoses connected to engine?
Yes the heater hoses are also under the fender. If you look, there are 4 hoses routing under the msd. 2 are the heater.
Are you worried about the hoses being hit by debris thrown up by tires? Any plans on writing a complete tech article on the AC with part list? (Don't want to steal your idea - want you to give it to me)
NO.... Its really too custom to be a tech article. It would only work if you bought the list of items. Everything from the March performance pulley setup to the mods to the firewall. Just too much to write about. Just start buying parts and find a way to make it work.... Good Luck... lol... Its a challenge sometimes.
I don't know how I missed this one. I'm also redoing my Comet. I love your mods Chris. Keep up the great work. I guess I may need to start a build thread also.
New Oil Pan So I decided to order a new oil pan after having tried everything with this old one to get it to stop leaking. Not only does it leak from the modified areas that have been welded but it also leaks out the back of the pan. At least I believe it does. When I jack the front of the car up pretty high like its going up a really steep hill, I get a significant amnt of oil leakage from that area. Here what I ended up with: Its from http://www.kevkoracing.com/.
Well. I finally feel like I have something accomplished. After weekends of trial and error, bad news and hurdles, I've finally got it right. I now have coil-overs and the rear suspension setup. All of this will be coming off in another couple weeks for finish welding and paint. Next up. I get to modify the front end of torque arm assembly and subframe.
see post #26 on page 3. Its a mustang torque arm setup from Total Cost Involved. Lots of little mods to make it work. I thought the Mustang and Mav were more closely related than this. Parts seem to be off by 3/16" here and there. Thankfully its just a matter of shortening most pieces.
