i pulled that picture from a posting on amazon. Its a kit for a "universal" application. I assume the extra brackets and hardware are for non fords.. My pushrod looked almost exactly like the one in the picture. non of the other hardware was needed. I may be misunderstanding your post tho

I think I get it now! All the items in that pic came as a universal kit for non Ford applications. I was confused cuz I have an adjustable rod for a Stange and don't recall it having all that stuff in the package.
I assume u modified the OE rod, by cutting off 1/4 in. n' threaded the ends, adding coupler n' jam nuts? U didn't happen to take any pic of the setup B4 installing?

Yeah, none of that extra hardware is gonna be needed on a Maverick.

correct. I just used the stock pushrod, that came with my new MC. i dont have any pics of the setup but it was just a normal pushrod that came with the MC (i believe it was for a granada). the pedal height was way too high, almost unsafe. Taking a 1/4 inch or so from the rod made the pedal sit perfectly, and if i ever want to change the pedal height i can just adjust the rod.

I can get a picture of it tonight when i go back to the shop to work on it a bit more. Ill pull the rod for ya.

Don't go thru the trouble of pulling the rod. I just thought u might have a pic of it and it might assist others who may want to do a similar mod. I got the idea of what you did.

I shortened the rod slightly. I have added the pivot tube for a quadrant for the clutch so when it is all assembled, the rod won't come out of the master cylinder. If you do shorten it, don't skip out on that. It has to be retained in the master cylinder, otherwise you can lift the pedal and it will pop out, then NO BRAKES!

You can see the brake switch. The pedal arm will hit the tube that is welded in the brake pedal bracket if it is pulled up.

Would have been easier to just use a retainer clip like the factory did.

That's just the way it turned out. I didn't really plan it that way. The point I was trying to make to the OP was to make sure the pedal rod would not pull out of the master cylinder.
