I didn't call anybody an ostrich. Anna posted this picture of an ostrich, just from the top of the legs down, wearing short pants, argyle socks, and house slippers. I'm curious as to how someone got all that on an ostrich and have it stand still for a picture.:huh:

It is a stuffed ostrich, not alive anymore. Got it on a hunting trip in Montana a couple years back.

    Cool!!!

Got the 9" home, it is off an old 289/302 bronco. Not sure which year. Measures 53-1/4"...only 1" wider per side than stock:bananaman

I think I will leave the length alone and just buy different rim backspacing from now on...

GOOD SCORE!!! Most likely a 1966-1977 Those rear ends around here are worth big $$$

And on a side note my uncle works at at drivetrain shop, they have a digital balancer and only charge $50 for a balance. He told me alot of the time a driveshaft flings a weight off or got dropped at some point and is generally a easy fix.

Just move the spring perches and you're good to go. I have a Bronco 9".

Where can I get axles for this?

You can find Bronco axles on e-bay. Just look for the '66-'77 model years. The bolt pattern for wheels is 5x5. If you use the Bronco axles, you'll need to drill out a 5x4.5 pattern or have one set of wheels for the rear and a different set for the back.

If you follow Mavaholic's tech article and use the axle shafts from an 8", you can use the axles from an 8" rear.

Of course, you can order custom ones with the right bolt pattern, length, and the spline that you want.
