See the first post in this thread.

I put my springs on over the weekend. I think I like them better than the JRS springs.

Yes, I got some JRS back when they were still available. I put them on the Grabber and it leveled it. I put the General springs on the 73 last weekend and it lifted the car for sure, but my old leafs were flat. Here's the only picture I have now (poor quality cell phone pic), I'll take more later. This picture is deceptive since I have a mix of things on it. It has 620lb 65-66 Mustang 1" lowering springs with a 1" pad in the front and the general leafs in the back with 1" lowering blocks. The rear tires are 275/60-15s. For those coming to Joplin, you'll see it then.

Firm, but not ridiculous. I'm really happy with it all.

Per my request, Joe waited until Monday to ship mine. Got shipping confirmation yesterday and they were on my front porch when I got home today.

I received my springs today also! The little plastic tips sticking out of the bottom of each spring are mostly broken off. Should I be concerned about this?

Are you talking about the clips on the pads?

The round circles that insulate between the spring leafs have tabs that press down through a hole in the center off each end of each leaf. The tabs sticking down through the leafs are broken, either sheared off, smashed sideways or cracked. The springs were shipped loose with no wrapping and Im guessing they got thrown around during shipping. Since they stuck out and were exposed they were pretty much destroyed. Also the rubber insulators with the steel band around them are pretty torn up also.

As far as the tip inserts are concerned they don't need to stick below the hole so you can trim those flush with the leaf spring if you want as long as the tip insert is in good shape then you are fine because a lot of times they are the ones which are flush with the hole. As far as the bands are concerned I'm surprised those got a little roughed up so verify the bands are tight and if not then I can send you out some kwik clips which look different but you don't need a strapping tool to put them on either.

Joe, Thanks for the reply. I believe the bands are tight but the rubber that the bands are wrapped around are all scrapped and torn away on the sides of the leafs as if the springs were drug on their sides. I'll double check the bands tonight. I got home late last night and just did a quick check on them before I ran them back to the barn for storage. I will cut the tips flush with the holes, I think they will look better that way anyway. Again Thanks ...
    Bob
