How much clearance do you have between the spark arm and the headers at the closest point?

To post pics in the text, I put them on a page in my website, then link to them by opening that page in another firefox tab (or explorer window), right click on the picture and "copy image location", then come back to my forum text, and hit the yellow square above where I am typing, next to the bold/italics/underline...it appears to have a mountain and a sun in it. In that box, right click and paste the copied image location, and the picture instantly links over from the other website. You won't see it unless you preview it or after you post it. Just some text like http://mmb.maverick.to/image.php?u=7453&type=sigpic&dateline=1199759551

You can also use storage on photobucket, and similar types of online storage facilities.

i know this is a little bit late but ill thow it out any ways. ive see people take the end off the plug wire and crimp on a ring terminal. then they use spark plugs with the screw on ends where the plug wire goes. they take off that screw pice put on the plug wire with the ring terminal on it and put a nut on it to hold it.

i have about 1/4 of a inch space, it takes the same space as a wire with 90 degree boot and i also e-mailed the company asking how close i could get these sparkarms to the headers and they said it can touch it as long as it doesn't get forced or squeezed or else might crack or break

Thanks for the hint on posting pics now i understand how it works!:thumbs2:

That's how I originally did mine before I found that the 90* distributor boots/terminals would fit. That's how the old Model Ts made their plug connections.

Yes, a modern ignition sytem will easily jump a 1/2" gap. You would have to insulate it with something to keep the plugs from grounding out.

The problem I had with the P heads and 90 degree boots, AND the spacer, was eventually, the boots got "crispy" and the spark would jump from the boot to the header tube. It looked really COOL at night, or in a dark garage, sparks flying everywhere. Ran like CRAP!!!

It took quite a bit of space between the tops of the plug boots and the header tubes to keep that arc from forming over time.
