The oil pressure you get is determined by two things (major): 1. the amount of oil being put out by the pump and its pressure relief 2. bearing clearance throughout the engine. If you use the minimum Ford specs you get really good pressure but if you use the minimum chevy clearance (which is over the Ford recommended maximum) you get low oil pressure - even with the high volume pump.
