    Yeah I gave up on those GT 40 P heads got me a set of Edelbrock heads

    Yeah, it's more money, but unless the whole car is on on a very tight budget (which happens) the extra money from modern, aftermarket heads is well spent. By the time you buy and do full rebuild/upgrade on a set of factory heads the cost of aftermarket, aluminum heads with screw in studs, new valves & valve springs, etc. is closer than you think.

    For some reason only partly attributable too shock towers, Ford's otherwise excellent engines mostly had substandard ports in the heads. Even the Cleveland heads had exhaust ports not nearly as good as the intakes and tend to run hardest with a dose of extra exhaust duration.
