I heard that before too. But all of our engines our sitting out side lined up and the Cleveland is definitely bigger than a 302.
i had a friend that was selling a boss 302 mustang II... guess i should have bought it... but now that i think about it... it had 4 lugs.. so i doubt the rear was a 9inch...
Just got off the phone with my FRPP supplier. Block is slated for mid-06 release. No pricing structure as of yet. He is one of the bigger FRPP dealers so he has a pretty good track when it comes to pricing notices. Supposed to be priced between the Sportsman block and the R302 block. Figure about $1200. As far as maching work on the Dart vs. FRPP (or RDI blocks for that matter), the Dart blocks I have done need a LOT more machine work.
Can you please ask your FRPP supplier what the expected horse power limit is on this block? thx <--Inquiring mind
Hmmm....ol boy must have had it backwards, one of them needs more machine work than the other so i'ts something to consider when purchasing....
I dont see why they cant have all the machining done when you buy them. As if a $2000+ price tag isnt bad enough.
Original Boss blocks only had 4 bolt caps on the center 3 mains. The 4-Bolt Cleveland engines have 4 bolts on all five mains.
fo shizzzle my nizzle? (do kids still say that these days) I can dig it, mannn. (snapping fingers to own beat)
lol, Rick, you're a trip... I will be watching this also. Right now I am leaning towards a Dart, but we shall see...
I think this question was answered but I am going to throw out my two cents anyway. Boss 302 heads have the cleveland 4v ports and topside but have the windsor water passages. You can put Boss 302 heads on any Windsor block with no modification (as long as the valves clear the cylinder walls. You can also put any Windsor head on a Boss 302 block with no modification. You can put Cleveland heads on a Boss/regulat 302 block but you have to modify a couple of water passages. This is not hearsay, I have done all of the above. As to horsepower levels, back in the 70's I bought a used 347 inch Boss 302 engine that had been run in a blown alcohol dragster. The block showed no wear.
