Yeah its pretty easy on some sites all you have to do is add a space somewhere and it will let you generate a similar email adress. A good example would be my name Markso125@soandso.com (not real link) all they would have to do is change it too _Markso125@soandso.com so when your scanning emails it doesnt register immediately.

Another good one for the people with user names like mine all they have to do is swap one or two of the numbers around and nobody pays much attention can you immedieately differentiate MarksoI25@soandso.com from Markso125@soandso.com

I don't have a Facebook account so that's not it.

Also never respond to phishing emails, so that's not it either.

I did have a password that would be easy to guess. Didn't think there was any big risk with someone hacking my account. So what if someone impersonated me in a post or edited an existing one?? Hadn't considered mass editing in of harmful links.:oops:

I also changed my easy-to-guess password on another forum.

I don't know how hard or easy it would be with this forum software to disallow obvious passwords.

I had the email problem a while back, it was sending everybody on my list the porno and meds emails. Like Scooper said, I ran Malwarebytes, CC Cleaner and every thing else I could think of. I also changed my password on both my AOL and Yahoo email accounts, and on every forum board that I'm on. Like Dave said, I think mine came from Facebook, too. I severely limited that account, and if anybody sends me a game request or a hug or a thought of the day or anything that require Facebook to scan my computer, I delete it instantly. As far as I know, that stopped it on mine, or at least I haven't heard any more complaints.
