Hi, I have some probleme with my lights. I have a 73 maverick and no owner manual, i bought one on ebay but still haven't received it (in France). That's why I need help. I have two position for lights: the low one and the other one, sometime medium and more often the high one (that's the problem). I don't know why some times it's high or medium for the same position, I don't decide wich one will come. If anyone can help! Thanks!
I'll try an work this out. There is the headlight switch you pull half way out and just the parking (running -amber an red lights on all four corners) Pull the knob out all the way and the above lights will stay on plus the 2 headlights. On the floor by your left foot there is a dimmer switch. It controls the headlights from LOW beam to a HIGH beam. When it's in high beam mode, there is a light in your dash cluster ( sorry I cant remember if top of speedometer or the other one with gauges, Too many cars) that red light will light up when headlights are in high beam. If you have a LOW-----Medium-----High brightness in your headlights,,, more than likely you have a ground wire problem with your lights. Check all your grounds near headlights and MAKE sure you have great ground. Also the bulb may be going bad and needs replaced. Headlight switch may also be going bad, not giving full voltage to headlights. Dimmer switch on the floor may be the problem also,,, I would check your grounds first! And if only 1 headlight is going medium bright,, swap them and see if problem follows the light. I don't know how parts are for you to get and thinking prices may be wow!!! I hope I have followed your thought here, but this will get you started and if nothing else give you some thought on how to explain your problem better! We do have some French speaking members (sorry not me) So if easier to tell thoughts in your language, give that a shot! Good Luck and hope I was able to help some!
Hi dkstuck, I found the switch on the floor, and that was it. The switch is working well, everything's perfect. Thanks for you help!
