Frank; I have the Bosch relays, but forgot to get the headlight plugs. If you could pick me up a set, I would appreciate it. I think my voltmeter will read what we need. My voltmeter in the dash says about 11 volts with the headlights on, 10 with the blower and lights. Bad ju'ju'. Will call tomorrow night, about 8ish. Earl
earl, will do. the wife said it is going to be cold and suggest chilli instead of chicken. would that be a problem for you? m.a.v. could bring his little red box over and we could help him hook it up...frank...:bananaman :bananaman
Frank; Chili be great!! Yeah, gonna be a bit cold and maybe wet. No problem. Tell M.A.V. to bring it too. Be a busy and great day. Earl
earl, i am going over to m.a.v.'s in the morning and get a measurement from a wireing harness he has. i am going to make up a harness so all we have to do is cut and splice when you get here.if it works we can do a tech tip and post it...frank...:bananaman
has anyone done this light upgrade? if so what was the outcome? were you happy with the end results?...frank...:bananaman
I did this upgrade to my girlfriend's '72 about 3 months ago. Major difference in the available light. Took about 2 hours to make the new harness, make a bracket to mount the fuse block and two relays to, test fit, install and dress it all up. Having full voltage to the lights is a wonderful thing..... I used her beater as a test case before doing the same to my '70. Same way I used her car to practive floor board replacements, door rust repairs, door hinge rebuilding, cooling system upgrades, etc. Now I know what NOT to do and what has to be outsourced.
