Well the part on it that are decent are the rear seat, the interior door panels; kick panels are ok, need to be painted, by the best piece has got to be the dash, not a crack in it anywhere, head liner is perfect, though I would take it out. The front bench is solid, but needs work on the seat part, the backs & head rests are excellent, and ther is no color fading on the black dash either, also the lower dash tray is decent too.
Outside the trim is all good; the trunk lid is perfect, all the lights are good, as are their housings, bezels etc. The tires are cooper's and only have 3,000 miles on them. The hub caps are excellent as are the beauty rings. The engine runs great too, ut I already know you can't give away a 250.

It's to damn cold to check anything else right now.

I would have to agree with Dan on this one as well..........that car is too far gone. Rust free cars are all over ebay and for $700 to $1000 you can have it shipped to your door. Maybe less if the car is closer to you. I had a car shipped to me from Oklahoma for $600. You will be MILES and MILES as well as dollars ahead with a rust free car.

    Evil-Bay?

I'd be worried about getting a car that way, All the ones are way to far away for me to look at. It's one thing to get ripped of for a $50 record LP that shows up in VG-/G+ condition, when it was advertised as EX+/NM- (That's Cover/Vinyl grading in case anyone's not a vinyl collector :D ) But, how can you be sure about a car, when you can't go see it? Hear it run etc?

My rust-free 71 Grabber was bought from eBay ... and it was 100% rust-free ...

Join the MCCI ... make some friends on this website ... and when a car comes up for sale on eBay, AutoTrader or anywhere else ... more than likely somebody may live close enought to go check it out for you in person ...

Also when Buying a Maverick there are 3 important things to check ...

    1) Is there any rust
    2) Is there any rust
    3) Is there any rust

All the mechanicals are easily replaced (suspension, engines, tranny's, etc) ... the sheet metal is not ...

I got a sweet deal on my rebuilt 250 ... I have about $900 total in the engine and what you see there ..

Dan, I think I'm the exception to the rule. Seems I'm about the only person around that thinks a good running used 6 cylinder is worth a damn. ;) But the day I pay for one will be the day I die. A used 6 cylinder just isn't worth much of anything, there is not much if any demand for them in used condition. Some people don't seem to understand that, but to each his own.

Dan's new engine is very nice. Looks better in real life then it does in the pics. I helped drop it in, 2 days before I wrecked my '74 Grabber.

    I will be joining

Craig is sending me an application in the mail, I haven't had my printer hooked up yet, I have to figure out where I'm going to put it still, my space is very limited.
As soon as I get it I'll be sending it in.

    Imho

I'd search for a clean Granny Mav and swap the Grabber parts onto it. The car you have would be a real challenge for even an experienced bodyman, and I don't personally think it's worth it.

    I'm always looking

I'm constantly looking for one in my local vicinity, and nothing ever shows up, once in awhile I see a 4 door later model, but thats not what I'm looking for. I'd almost given up looking, and was almost talked into getting rid of the car, until I found this forum 2 weeks ago. I mean I've driven this car since 1997, only recently took it of the road last september, when I started taking the seats out to patch up the floor. It's always run, it's just got cosmetic issues, or better yet rust issues! LOL :biglaugh: :rofl2: But, in New York what do you expect? If I can get a 70-72 Maverick 2 door with lttle rust, and if its farther away, and someone from here could verify that there are no major flaws, then I'll get, use what good parts are on my car and then whatever is still good that I can't use, is up for grabs, to whoever can use it.
I'll snap some more pics later this week. It's supposed to hit 60 here this friday!!:D :D So I'll try and get more pics of underneath, and the rear quarters.

    Got my application today! Yay!

Hey Craig, I got my application in the mail saturday, thanks, though it was stamped my post office as damaged/partial product missing? Was there anything else in there besides the application in it like an insert or something?

I'll be mailing in my check on wednesday(Payday)

    Thanks again!

Ok, then I guess it was just ripped on the corner, hence the "damaged" stamp.
