I used these wires because they were "donated" by NAFORD to help test out this cap. If I ever buy new ones, they will be 90 on both ends.

Never had a chance to run it. Runs GREAT in the garage. Just had family over all weekend and never had a chance to take it out.

Well, finally took it for a spin. It ran fine at high speeds (and low speed), but I still have that take-off hesitation I had before-hand. I am pretty sure that is carb jetting. It works fine while the weather is cool, then when it hits 80, it starts to hesitate again. This time of year, it is 60 one day, 80 the next, until mid December.

But the electrical part seems to be running just fine (y)

Hesitation at take off is usually the accellerator pump.
The jets only work alone at a steady cruise, so that is where they show symptoms of problems.

I think both are an issue. But I believe the accelerator pump is my current issue. I noticed that this started to happen when the weather started to cool, and initially thought I needed to rejet it due to the winter fuel being introduced. I messed with the rods a bit, and got most of it to go away, but it was in the low 60s that day. Next time I drove it (yesterday) it was in the high 80s, and it is "burp"ing again.

Accelerator pump or the idle mixture screws are set too lean.

I think the idle mixture is fine...more likely the acc pump. Haven't had time to mess with it. Gotta get the manual steering installed, then look up what to do to fix the acc pump...

Right now, I am not driving it...but is is driveable, in case of emergency, if one of the other vehicles was to fail...

Edit...Now that you mention it, I might need to adjust the idle mixture, since I have swapped out the rods and all that...

okay guys dirty secret time >;0 ford large caps can be used on points distributors.. all you need is the middle cone the cap and the correct rotor you can swap points caps onto duraspark dist.. msd sells a complete conversion.

for you guys not in the know msd is a smart company and knows how to recycle.. I have proof...

first i have a msd street billet dist it uses a gm advance system in it.. which is fine with me but it uses a ford pickup.. all msd billet distributors that require a control box use 2 wire ford duraspark pickups >;) all they do is graft the advances onto the pickups us a gm cap and rotor (or a large cap conversion using a ford cap..)

    my 2 cents worth
