The old Registration said it was a 73. It has a 200. I may be able to use some of those parts. I have a bunch of stuff I grabbed from an older maverick so I'm going to see what I can make fit and what will look okay.

Cool. I have the smaller bumper for front and back but not sure if I'm going to use them. I'll be in touch for sure.

I stand corrected I double checked the Vin on the provincial vin search. It's a 76. Good eye on the bumper. I haven't owned one of these since I was 17.

The way the back bumper is "tweaked" makes me think the rear frame rails, or the bumper mounts, or both are severely rusted. Might want to check that before you proceed too much further.

Yeah. I'll be replacing the majority of the rear frame rails and the bumper mounts. This is a long term project.

how are the trunk/floor pans , cowl and torque boxes? is there a chance you could start with a better car?

Needs trunk drops. The actual trunk floor is good. Torque boxes are good. There are very few of these cars in Canada for sale much less Saskatchewan. Would be hard to find a better vehicle to start with. Plus this one cost me very little.

I just was talking to my buddy who bought my 77 comet 4 years ago,,baby blue , blue interior, high bucket seats, pwr disk brakes ,steering,302 rebuilt , really good shape, small bumper convert, factory racing mirrors, hood scoop, aluminum slots might be selling soon, if interested needs almost nothing,,dunno price though,,might be better to buy this one as done,,

Thanks for the info. Sounds great. There is one like that on Kijiji. They're asking 16k for it. I really don't have any spare cash. We're on a single income at the moment with 3 kids. One day it would be nice to buy something completely finished.

It cost very little now.......but if you are talking replacing rear frame rails....it will cost a LOT more to finish. I bet that car has more rust than you realize. Not trying to bust your chops......just trying to help you out. I speak from experience.

Yeah. No worries I know there is likely a pretty large can of worms about to be opened.
