    Hi everyone,
Before I get started, I just want to thank everyone whose posts I have found useful over the years as a non member. I got my '71 Maverick as my first car as a junior in high school and 4 years later I haven't done much aside from getting it running again. Had some help from my grandpa, a former state patrol mechanic and a die hard Ford man. I'll update with some photos this weekend, don't currently have any saved on my laptop!

Welcome to the forum, from the center of the nation! :Welcome:
You have a great start w/ a grandpa, former state patrol mech. and die-hard Ford man. Don't get much better than that? Good Luck...

    Welcome, from Portland OR.

That is a special time, and the opportunity for more sometimes disappears without notice. Take the time to treasure it....it will have meaning long after our cars have rusted away. I am glad you stopped in and said hello! Dont forget to post some pics!

Managed to grab a few older photos off my phone, this is from when I was still getting her running again. My grandparents were gracious enough to let me store it in their garage while I was away at college, but I'm supposed to pick it up tomorrow!

That looks like a clean car, what a great platform to start with.

You said a lot there. My grandpa helped get my valves set on my Malibu in his church clothes. He started his career at a Ford dealer and ended it as a Union 76 station owner.

Welcome!! That looks like a great start!!

My maternal grand pa used used medical tape for wire insulation. One of his connections set house on fire. :yikes:

My paternal grand pa died when I was five. Only thing I remember about him was he once whipped my butt. Wasn't that I didn't deserve it, just only thing I remember.

My dad was a decent mechanic, worked in one of his uncle's garage when younger and did his own heavy truck repair.
