It's coming off. The passenger side is almost done.

I picked up a Geo brake booster this last weekend @ Pick N Pull on 1/2 of weekend. Gonna try to get that mocked up sometimes this weekend. I looked for a writeup on the site but couldn't find one. So I'm gonna try to document this as best as I can to possibly create a tech article out of it. I've been kinda stale on the project for a week or so, I had some problems with my Jeep (daily driver) so I had to focus on that for a couple days. So I'm ready to get back into the swing of it here this upcoming week.

Sounds great. I have a Geo booster waiting to be installed, but haven't had any time to install it yet. I definitely would be interested in a tech article. Here is a link to installation in a Falcon: http://fordfalcon2000.com/restoration/powerbrakes.htm Good luck!

Yeah I just printed that out before I went to lunch and took it home. I'll use that as an overview, and get maverick specific info and pics together. I read somewhere here that new holes will have to de drilled. Overall I think it should go together easily.

Been a while since I updated this post having bad cold weather here and that drains my motivation. I'm going to go pick up a set of Magnum 500's tomorrow morning, and also picked up a front disc conversion from Yellow75.:Handshake
Went junkyardin a few weeks back and picked up a geo booster to use in the disc conversion, also looking at rear disc's as well, since a buddy gave me a set of Cadillac rear calipers with e-brake. So I gotta either buy or fab up some mounting brackets for those. I'll get pics of the wheels up tomorrow, the guy said they were in O.K. condition and I haven't seen them yet so we'll see. Right now I'm just gathering parts and waiting for the good weather. I have a 1965 VW project that Im going to sale so that I can use the carport for the Mav. The carport is a stones throw form the garage, so that'll make things a lot easier to work on the Mav during the winter. Right now it's tarped up and setting on my project pad in the back yard. I hate winter, but I guess we can use the rain.:dancing:

Here are the pics of the Magnun 500's I went and picked up today. Two are in real good condition, as far as chrome, the other two are So So, but i think a set of beauty rings for them all will hide the pitting/peeling of the chrome on the bad two.

Tires are in o.k. sahpe, but one of the fronts has a plug, soi'm probably gonna buy two new ones for the fronts at least, if not spring for a whole set.

I'll have to get some pics with them on the car too.

Well it's been a while, but I'm still at it.
I picked up a 302 a few months back from a guy that took it out of a 68 Cougar.

This is what it looked like when I got it

Well needless to say, there was NO way i was gonna run that as is. So after a couple months of putting some money aside I had the engine rebuilt to a 306 using the stock crank as it was good, forged rods and hyper pistons, new rings, bearings all the way thru etc...

Now this is what I got back

Now it's time for the fun to begin. I'm not going with a radical cam or head so I got it all matched up to a set of 20K mi E7's I had in the garage. I had them deck the block to leave me with a CR of about 9-9.5:1. So I can run 87 and make interstate trips. I think I'll be real pleased with the outcome. I have been dealing with this shop for a long time and I like the way they involve themselves in the builds.

I'll get more pics up as I get the HCI installed. Pretty much all down hill from here. I got a built C4 And a TCI street figher going behind it. So I can have some fun.:character0182: I will probably go T-5 later down the line, but for now the Auto will do me good.

Waitng for some better weather to finish up the interior and get new glass seals.

    Later

Looks good. Sounds like it is coming together quite nicely.:)

Very nice! Have you tried the Geo booster yet, or are you going a different direction?

Yeah, I'm doing 4 wheel disc now, so I picked up the MC form a Dodge '85 D-100 truck.
I'll probably end up selling the Geo Booster.

I'll be starting on my disc brake conversion after work tomorrow. I'll be sure to post pics of the work. I'm also going to be doing a manual steering conversion at the same time so I'll be in the garage for the next few nights. Gotta get this thing ready for the better weather.

Well I made a little progress last night before going to bed around 1am. I got the old drum stuff out and decided to replace the upper and lower ball joints since I was that deep anyway.

I also got the manual steering conversion done and ditched the power stuff. I'll post it in the sale section for anyone that wants to take that off my hands. I think I'll be more than fine with manual steering.

I got a chance to take a ride in my buddies mav with power steering and didn't really think too highly of the way it felt + Im running long tube headers and want all the clearance I can get.

I'll pick up the ball joints today after work and try to get everything buttoned up tonite. I'm also gonna cut a coil off my front springs, so I have to get those out tonite too.

Here are a couple of pics I snapped off last night, and today at lunch.

Here is the MC I'm gonna use. It comes from a '85 Dodge D-100/150 1/2 ton truck.

I have a little wire brushing to do to prep the opening for thew new MC

Also threw in my new lighted rear view mirror, still have to run the power wires, but it's in.

Here is a shot of my soon to be less cluttered garage.

Bad ball joint boot, good ball joint.

I'll have the fronts done tonite. I'll probably do the rears next weekend.
All depends on what happens tonite. I was pretty whooped last night, so after work I'm gonna take a nice nap for an hour or so before I get started.
But I should be able to have the fron buttoned up, and maybe get the car turned around to start on the rears. We'll see. I'll keep the pics comin.:thumbs2:
