I've been looking in on all of you for a little while now and you seem like a pretty nice group, lots of good ideas and some really great looking cars. So I decided I'd like to join. My name is Tim Murphy, I live in Spokane Washington, and I'm a Ford and Maverick lover( almost sounds like an AA introduction....).I have a 69.5 maverick with 42000 original miles that I'm building into a 302/ 4 speed car, and a 71 mav that I built into a street stock/circle track car( don't shoot me,lots of rust and no title).Looking forward to exchanging ideas with all of you.
Welcome to our large and happy family of Maverick and Comet owners. It's always nice to have a new member join us.
Thanks for the welcome, sorry, no pictures....guess I'll have to buy a camera now. Are there any members around the Spokane area? There seem to be a few over on the coast but I've never noticed anyone post from here, theres a couple of nice mavericks running around town though.
Welcome aboard. We are having our first ever Washington State Mini Meet next weekend. Check out the area dealing with Club meets, all the info is there. Hurry & get us some pictures.
Welcome, just gotta ask if your 69.5 was a 3 on the column car and if so is the collar the shifter pivited on in tact. If so I am trying to stock pile an extra one or two. Only the 69.5 with the ignition on the dash will work and they are few and far between. Some people who go to the floor shifter take the collar off if they can find an original from a floor shifter car to replace it with. They are made of pot metal and break inside pretty frequently so before my next one breaks I am trying to plan ahead. Thanks and again welcome to the board. Kelly
Kelly, mine has an automatic transmission shifted on the column. How close are the Falcon columns to the mavericks? I've been told that alot of the parts cross but have never tried it myself.
Falcons are smaller, just my luck the one part that seems to be going to give the most problem for me to be able to keep car original was only produced for this car for the first 6 months or so since midyear they went to the column mounted key. Thanks a lot for your reply. One day I may have to bite the bullet and go to floor shifter, its just neat teaching my son to drive a three on the tree and most of his friends have never seen one. Thanks Again & enjoy the board,LOTS of great people and advise around here and the mini meets bring together new friends just waiting to be met. Kelly
