Hello everyone it's a pleasure to be able to join the Maverick/Comet community, I've bought one for myself as my first major project it's a 1974 4Door and I lack the knowledge and experience to do it by myself so I hope that you would help me with it

Well I was wondering if an 70s F100 9inch rear end would fit without any problems

No a 70s ford f100 will not fit, way too wide, you could have it cut down to size. Look for a Granada with a 9" rearend, hard to find but out there or a 57-59 Ford car or Ranchero they are about an inch wider but will fit. A good substitute is to use a 8.8" rearend out of an Explorer. Here is a link to an article about how to do it.

With limited knowledge and funds it is not for something you may want to take on, why do you want a 9" the 8" will take quite a beating and is good to around 500 hp with an automatic transmission
