Hello Everyone:) I just joined up on your Forums!, I know this is a 1970 and up Maverick and Comet forums but I was reading threw a lot of the threads before hand and you guys seem like really Kool car guys. I just purchased a clean 1962 Comet coupe and I plan on installing a 1999 Cobra modular 4v drive train which I just picked up this weekend.

    :Welcome: from Northeast Pennmsylvania

The modifications that you will have to do to fit that engine in your 62 Comet will be of interest to the 70-77 crowd here, I can assure you. :thumbs2:

In fact, the Mustang II crossmember, going in my 70 Maverick, is actually built for an early Comet/Falcon.

Hey Guys thanks for the Welcome! I should have my Comet by Monday the transporter picked it up in Kentucky on Thursday. Its a nice clean original car with 66000 original miles. I crew chief for one of my friends running in the NMRA series Modular Muscle class. The last race of the year was in Bowling Green Ky, they had a car show and swap meet there, so when I had some free time a took a ride in the pit bike and came across this car and made a deal and bought it! Being around all the Modular guys in the pits all season made me think about installing a modular motor in this 2450 lb lightweight! We have an autobody shop family buisness were I started working after school when I was 12 years old, I am now 39! This will be the first time I have done a build like this; I am used to repairing Soccer Moms suv's hitting a parked car picking up the kids from school for the last 25 + years.
