No need to apologize, but that's very sweet of you. I know you were only trying to help, thanks very much. The vinyl interior is cracked and molded as well as the carpet. Hood is busted off at the pins up at the cowling cuz of rust. Being out in the wet weather for over 15 years has left its toll on it. Take care.

My comet I just sold sat outside under a tree at the dragstrip for a good ten years... had very very minimal rust also. Arkansas isnt so bad on cars in the "rust factor"

    I know. I wasn't arguing.

Just saying that AR is a good state for minimal rust... unlike northern ones. :)

I didnt know your car came from AR tho

    Yep.

Funny thing though.....as solid as it was....it still had more rust than the two Ohio cars I have had.

I found it hard to let go of my '77 as well, even after I had my '72 together and running. I eventually did in May of 2003...I had owned the car since February of 1988 when i was a senior in High School. Over a decade of sitting out in the elements as well as years of driving on the salty Michigan roads had taken a toll...the car was terribly rusted underneath..the frame was crumbling. After hanging onto the car for nostalgic reasons the time eventually came to let it go to the junkyard where it would quickly go to the crusher. I decided to have some fun with it...took pictures of the guys towing it away. I even went to the junkyard and had my picture taken next to the car in its final resting place. My favorite pic is one I Photo Shopped. The left side is the day it was towed away after I stripped off all the parts, the right side was taken in 1989 right after I had it repainted:
