I have a set of 17x8 MB Old Skool Wheels with a offset of 6mm.
My question is I want to buy tires and don't want any issues with them. The tires I'm looking at are 225/50r17 for the front and 235/50r17 for the back. The car is a 74 Grabber with 1" blocks in the rear and springs are cut in front for approximately a 1"-1 1/2" drop.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Im not sure about the offset but your tire size is close to what Im running. Im running a 245/45/17 on a 7" wheel front and rear with about the same lowering. I had to roll my front fender lips to keep from cutting the sidewalls on the tires. I use this site to compare all tire/rim combos http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp

In terms of backspacing it would be a 4.25 backspace.
Also I am planning on rolling my fenders regardless because they are already off the car for work and figured I would just kill two birds with one stone.

I ran 225/40/17 and 245/40/17 on a 17x8 rim with a 4 1/2" backspace. It fits as long as the top of the tire is not tucked inside the fenders. When you turn, the tire while angle pass the fender some.

50s are too tall. Go with 45s.

I run 17x8 all the way around. 235-45's up front and 255-40's out back. 50's are too tall and will rub. I'd also go 275-40's out back when you need to get new tires back there. Mine sits pretty low up front on coil overs.
