Napa has teflon paste for automotive. Very good stuff. Have had it on fuel fittings for a while and no leaks

Sorry I must have had a seizure when I typed that. It's Napa. Comes in a white small plastic bottle. I believe its called permatex or something along those lines.

Hmmm, considering many of the braided stainless steel fuel lines have teflon lining...

Teflon paste is better than tape. Little bits of tape can break off and go where you don't want them to.
Don't know what brand my inlet tubes are but they have never leaked.

My most recent leaky one was a Mr. Gasket. I guess sometimes you just get a dud... Another one I used might have been Mr. Gasket or Spectre, not sure. My theory is that some of these carbs don't quite exactly line up with the flares, maybe due to varying bowl/metering block gasket thickness, then they get crooked and leak. I don't know, but nothing I did helped. Tightened them, tried different fittings, used some thread locker at one point, no luck. My homemade setup has worked well though. It let me put everything together loosely and tighten up the flare nuts on the carb first so I knew they were straight, then I tightened the compression fittings. Hasn't leaked a drop yet.

I've never heard that.:hmmm: I've used teflon tape for years on many different fuel lines with no problems. I have heard of bits of it breaking off and clogging small passages, but if you put it on correctly you won't have that problem.

I wouldn't think there would be a difference in the distance between the inlets...BUT, the inlets could be different sizes...not sure. I know I had to buy two different sets of stand-offs for my fuel line, which is similar to the one shown. One set for the BG Demon, and one set for the Quick Fuel E85 carb...

For $50 its a great deal, no shipping. Hope its a good piece. I got a femal AN to hose barb. We'll see how it goes, the AF gauge is hooked up so i should be able to tune it well.
