yeah I'll probably go with a scoop, easier... otherwise I'll probably try to over engineer it and never get it done... I would probably try to make a all out race hood, with cowl induction that dives almost halfway down and behind the radiator...

I've been working on a steel scoop like the fiberglass one that was one it. Now I'm trying to figure out how I want to finish the front edge. Rounding it? fold it over like the back of the door than round it? weld a strip of metal at ~45% than round/smooth out the weld? I've been debating for awhile and I'm kind of leaning toward the rounding or weld and round... here is what I got so far,

    Would appreciate some input. Thanks

    Really nice work!

I almost want to say leave it "as is", but it probably does need to have some visual thickness for the front uprights ... maybe 1/2" on each side, but I like the crisp edge line. I am thinking a bit like the Cobra Jet scoops, where the inner part of the opening was a vertical filler.

As was said, really very nice workmanship............I like it!
Personally, I'd round it. I think it would make look and feel finished....IMHO

When I said leave it "as is", I hope nobody was assuming I meant raw metal and unfinished bodywork. ;) I was thinking the basic shape on it is pretty darned good.

that is where I'm leaning... roll all the front edges and where the two angles meets in the center give it a small ridge line...

Trying to figure out at what point do I stop hammering and use bondo... trying to smooth out the rounded top-to-side transitions and the top ridge line that runs the length of it.

It's close but the top-to-side hammered transitions are not perfectly smooth and consistent like I want it (radius seems the same but the elevation isn't) but I'm getting to the point to where I'm afraid of "overworking" it and just jacking it up.

Rounded the front edge, the issue I'm having with the top to passenger side edge is only a elevation change of about a 1/8th inch if that... I'll probably try to work it a little more, here is a couple pictures of the front rolled edge.

If I went by the work it till your satisfied, well I probably wont be satisfied till it looks like it's pressure formed and take a lot more time than what I've already invested especially with the tools I'm working with so I will probably reach the "I'm sick of working on this so I'm gonna use bondo" point pretty soon there.
