Oh no, I was corrupted LONG ago. It's just been an uphill climb from there to be a decent God-fearin' member of society since. Hard to have a conversation sometimes if the mind's in the gutter because I can twist any phrase no matter how innocent into something, er, not quite so :evilsmile Seems, though, like I'm in good company.
my hood came off of a 351w maverick, there is a 13'' hole cut in it with 4 screws through the metal into each corner of the scoop. there are some more pics in my album if your interested.
hay the scoop im sending you will look just fine and you can put a 14" air filter under it. hu hu i sead "under it"
Um, I think the guy said "pictures"? profile picture at http://mmb.maverick.to/attachment.php?attachmentid=16679 probably too big for most of you guys
I've got the Mopar scoop on the 75. The thing rises several, maybe 5", off the hood at it's tallest. However, it doesn't add much clearance for it's height. Just over an inch at best. What intake combo are you using that you can't get the hood shut on a 351w? That's kinda odd assuming you are not using spacers or tall engine mounts. You should be able to get most anything on there with stock 4v, Performer, or the like. An RPM, Gap, or Stealth would only need a good drop base. This is the same car with a 302, tall intake, Holley, and non-drop 10" A/F at 3.5" tall. The heat shield added height as well. All this needed was the additional 1" provided by the Mopar scoop. When I went to a 351, I used the same carb heat shield, and A/F on top of the stock intake. It put the air cleaner in the scoop at the same height. I would think that if I lost the .5" of the shield and went down to a drop base (or 2" tall filter), I would have gained plenty to shut the hood and not go into the scoop. If you look at the pic, at that time, the car had an 11" hole in the hood for the A/F to go up into. The scoop is bolt on. Bolt on is the way to go. "Bond on" to steel can be a PITA. Bond on to fiber is okay... Good luck Dave
Man, that would be freakin' awesome if someone built a convertible Sprint! (just not use a real Sprint to do it)
I have seen convertibles made with our cars, but the "flow" of the lines wasn't right. But in your photoshop, you gave it a little hump over the rear fenders that just MAKES it!
Haven't seen them, but will look... Edit--I looked at your recent threads but didn't see anything clearly labeled as convertible. A link?
