Well, my therapy seemed to be working so good!!! I actually sold both my 74 Mavericks which dropped me down to eight! The it happened...the phone rang...same old story...went kinda like this... "Are you the guy with all the Mavericks?" Yep, that's me! Well, I got one I think you might be interested in. It's a 1973 with that Boss 302 motor in it. Of course I had to jump all over that rare baby!!! Seriously though, it is a 73 LDO 2-door with a lot of goodies. The car has a lot of rust so I will be parting it out. Then 2 days ago, the friggin phone rings again. "Are you the guy"...well, you know the rest of the story. This one turned out to be a 71 Grabber less engine and tranny. The car is in great shape with the usual rust in the hood but very straight and repairable. The rest of the car is great with hardly no rust at all. Looks like it will be a keeper. I will probably go ahead now and offer my yellow 71 Grabber (one of my flood cars) for sale but I may keep the bumpers and wheels. Got a local guy asking about it now. Anyway, I'm right back in the "10 club" again!!! Now I gotta find that number Hawkco gave me so I can call my therapist. Anybody wanna buy a good Boss 302 motor???
Ray: From my experience, I will get several offers to buy cars all at once and then it's quiet for a while. I've also noticed everything seems to come in threes. You probably have another phone call coming this weekend! Sounds like the Grabber was a good find! Remember, it's not an addiction if THEY are the ones calling YOU!
As a Maverick addict and fat man, I understand this completely. I'm still going to use that excuse though - especially when the wife asks about the next Maverick that comes along.
