I've let several of my friends, both male and female drive my Mavericks. My girlfriend in 2005 drove my '74 Grabber every now and then, she loved the car wanted to get a Maverick for her first car. Her dad, being a Chevy guy, was like no way in hell. The only complaint I have got is the effort it took to stop the car when it had manual drums all the way around. And my buddy's girlfriend described my '72 as being a "big boat"... :hmmm:

My mom got pulled over for laying drag in this car when she was 8 months pregnant with me back in 1987. :biglaugh: She said the look on that cops face was priceless when she rolled down the window and she was 8 months pregnant and had my brother in a car seat in the passenger seat. :rofl2: And then of course I was brought home from the hospital as a new born in that car. She said my dad was already outside waiting, and they rolled her out in a wheel chair and the nurse was like "you're getting in THAT car!?" :biglaugh:

My girlfriend calls my Comet "Brownie". She'll ride with me no problem... She tried to drive it once but got really nervous. Totally different feel to the Comet than her Honda Civic.

My wife completely refuses to drive the Maverick. For one she says it's "My baby" and two it's a little too big I guess. ( I think she doesn't want to face the music if something happens to it with her behind the wheel.)

As always, I have the opposite problem especially with my orange drag car. We are always go back and forth on who can get it to go the fastest down the track. I am more used to the car so I have that going for me, but he has so much more general drag racing experience in lots of cars so he has that going for him. It used to make me so mad, I would make pass after pass and he would jump in and be tenth quicker, now I can hang right with him. Currently I stand in the lead with the fastest time, I have weight on my side. With my chassis car, it will be hard for him to fit in there, it is fit to me but we do have a second set of seat bracket holes for him if with ever need to use them. He just had pretty major open heart surgery this week so it will be a little bit before we are racing again. I won't have to fight for my car for about 2 months now.

Hope he heals up fast.I taught my wife how to drive in my mav.No ps.pb and its stick that was 20 years ago and our only car for the first 4 yrs we were married. It was interesting but she picked it up quick. She doesnt drive it now unless she has to.I have spoiled her with big SUV's.but she can still get in and row the gears and make it scream with the best of em.I need to finish it now so I can drive it again.

Last time Judy drove my Stallion was back in about 1978. She really cant drive a stickshift but had to drive it because I was unable to drive due to major excess in alcohol. She has no desire to drive the Mavericks,, she has her own car, 1979 Z-28.

a couple years ago at the bracket nationals, we were pitted way way back in the pits, when they called us to the staging lanes, I ask Becky if she wanted to drive it up there, she did :D I got her to "goose it" once and that was all it took  now when she rides in it with me, I am on my best behavior :p

My wife, Sheena, has never even sat in mine. She can't drive a stick so I don't have anything to worry about:)
