I drive @ 40 miles a day to work so most of the time I drive the family veh. ( 1500 Dodge Lamerie ) which leaves only the Mav at home that runs so yes she enjoys driving it around town for coke or Dr. etc.

My wife wanted to drive the Yellow 72, wants absolutely nothing to do with the tan 73... But she, up till this date and time hasn't driven either, even though I have offered to let her. I think the lack of power brakes skeers her.

Has my Wife driven my :drive:Comet?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH :rofl2:My Wifes attitude about my Comet is as follows

My wife, Jennifer, has never even sat in mine in fact she will barely even walk over and look in it...

My "Comet" sat for many years, in the driveway, near the front of my house too. My wife used terms like "It's Ugly.". "it Smells" , "why that car and not a mustang or camaro?" and the best one :thumbs2:"you know you're never gonna get that thing running again, you will never have the money for it"

This Last Comment alone is enough to make me NEVER sell it even if it becomes a Yard ornament I'll just set some lawn knomes around it and call it ART! :mischeif:

This poisonous hatred of my car bleeds over to her friends and some of the family who just kind of act like it as sort of pathetic joke:rolleyes:. However My Mother and Father in law have given me Generous amounts of " Comet Cash " for Christmas they are pretty cool about :cool:it, even if they don't understand it.:hmmm: i suspect My Father in law respects the fact that I have jewels to stay with it in the face of such adversity.

I'm not sure where any of this negativity comes from because I never put it before family and I never use houshold budget money to get stuff done to it.

Anyway i'll have the last laugh:mischeif: when i go on road trips with it and get trophies at shows:1st::respect:!!

Sunday I thought it would be fun to crank all the Mav's & let my wife see how each of them drives.:yup: After driving several of them she says, when can I drive the yellow one (pictured in my avatar) with the loud pipes?:hmmm: I never knew she had paid that much attention. When she cranked it up she started smiling & revving the motor. Then she looks at me with this evil :evilsmile grin & nails it. :chirp:She goes a few blocks burning rubber every time she takes off & giggling hysterically.:rofl2: We pull back up in the drive way & she can't put it in park. It's a Hurst shifter so I told her to pull up the T handle. Didn't work. I went around to take care of it & I couldn't get it in Neutral, Reverse or Park. I figured it was in the cable. Not! Clutch band broke. Put it in the shop & had to be rebuilt. :yikes: Wife felt terrible. I told her I have driven it much harder than that plus the fact that it had over 100,000 miles on it. I have still enjoyed telling the story that she tore my transmission up.:)
