Do you just by a new oil sensor to fix this problem then, is it pretty easy to put in? I had a mechanic tell me that is where one of my oil leaks is too.
Halebopp, It should be very easy to get a sensor at a local auto parts store. I imagine they are $10 or so. It just screws into the side of the block, pretty close to the oil filter. Use some teflon tape on the threads. I seem to remember using a large adjustable wrench because the sensor is an odd shape. (8-sided?) Pro mechanics have a dedicated socket for these.
halebopp has an I6 tho. the oil pressure sensor would be towards the back of the head on the drivers side. youll notice the electrical connection going to it. you screw it out and screw the new one back in. not a difficult job at all
Doesn't even come close to the guy I know that swapped in a new engine to replace the poorly running engine he tried to run on diesel fuel. We've all done stuff like that... I just ain't telling anyone about my screw ups.
No way! Man, I sure wouldn't want to buy a car from that guy! (Sorry, D. Some things are never forgotten. "Love ya, mannnnnn." )
Jamie don't know why I never saw this in you signature line before but can you post picts of the spyder?
I just recently edited my sig. Bought the car back in April. There are a few pictures in my gallery, here: http://mmb.maverick.to/gallery/showimage.php?i=3614&catid=member&imageuser=2669
Jamie that Fiat is sweet.. Dang.. I guarantee I never thought I'd say THAT about a " F.ix I.t A.gain T.ony"
I hear ya, I never thought I would own one! It's a really fun little car just to cruise around in, and has embarrassed it's share of ricers, Camaro's and Mustang's around here, not to mention the occasional BMW, ect.. Lost count of the number of times I have been asked "what the hell do you have in that thing?" Throttle response and acceleration are pretty much instant...
