A cat recently adopted us, and when we had it declawed, they told us to use a litter called Yesterday's News which is recycled and pressed newspaper. Well, I just found a 20 lb bag of that stuff left over from the declaw, and put it in the garage.

I have a feeling it will get used.

    Quickly...

I agree about the bee swarm.

I just went out and soaped and wiped down the floor. Thought I had everything clean and under control. Then found one of the cooler lines had rolled over.

Now, despite having blown those suckers out, this thing has created ONE MORE PUDDLE!!!:taz:

(I really wanted the "willy nilly" smilie. Anyone seen it? I can't find it on the list...:()

Hang the transmission (less converter) tail shaft down over a 5 gallon bucket.
In about two weeks it will stop dripping....... noticeably.
The valve body will hold small amounts of oil for over a month and the input and sun gear bells will hold close to half a quart indefinitely. (slowly dripping past the sun and planet gears)

    Two WEEKS? Over a MONTH!!!

    Geez!:dizzy:

At least now it is dry enough and in a position that I can get the valvebody out. Got a 12-pak of beer, and a party across the street all day, so I will be in and out of the garage working on swapping the parts over. And hope to have the new one in before the weekend is out.

Thinking of having the new converter flushed. Is this a good idea before installation?

Having the converter flushed is a great idea! The problem is that it is nearly impossible to flush a converter without cutting it open and then re-welding it shut.

I didn't go back and watch, wish I would have. But it supposedly runs a fluid in while spinning the converter, and the fluid comes back out, I guess the drain hole?

Anyway, he said the stuff coming out was really clean, and it likely didn't need it in the first place, but said it never hurts.

PaulS...thanks for quickly answering all my transmission questions this morning (about 4 of my questions at one sitting!!!)
