Does anyone have a Write up on how to install the pertronix set? Preferably With Pictures as I my English doesn't really extend to much more than everyday Language. Mine has the resistor wire that needs to be bypassed. Where do you take the Power for it from? Do you just run a straight wire to it or do you install a fuse or relay as well? I have their Flamethrower coil installed already.
My car wouldn't start when I tried to install it With the resistor wire.

I also have one of these Connected:

Do I need to throw this one away as well?

You will need to get rid of that ballast and run a wire from straight 12 volts, I spliced into a red with green strip wire that feeds into the instrument cluster.

That kit looks great, but my local parts store didn't have it in stock and I don't want to wait 1-2 weeks for it to come in.
I'll just buy a relay and wire it myself.
Isn't it necessary to put in a fuse on the wire straight from the battery?

I put a fuse in everything coming from the battery. I suggest you do the same.

I added the inline fuse just to be safe.

The pertronix will work with the stock ford resistor wire without any problems. I just wired one in my bronco, as simple as running both wires to the coil. It's not that the pertronix will run worse with less voltage. It's just an electrical switch which will either work or not. If it doesn't, get a relay.

It is true the Ignitor I usually will work with the resistor wire.
He said his would not run with the resistor wire, which makes me think he has the Ignitor II, which needs the full 12 volts.

dspr - could you tell us which pertronix model you have?

Also, the link he posted shows an additional ballast resistor - maybe he can post some pictures of the wiring he has, beginning at the firewall. As the resistor wire is under the dash, and additional resistor in the engine bay might result in too much of a volatge drop!
