Hypereutectic pistons will handle nitrous just fine as long as you take all the appropriate steps to prevent detonation.
If you end up with detonation in a nitrous motor, forged pistons will melt pretty quick like anything else.
Just make sure you're mixing a little fat under the spray and machine the bores on the big side of the manufacturers tolerance.
    Just my opinion.

MaverickGrabber...I sure could use a copy of the desktop dyno if you are willing. How big is the file? Zipped is fine. I have an email account with an almost unlimited download size.....Let me know, I am in the middle of building the engine. Thanks.

Anyone know what kind of power you can get out of a set of 1970 351w heads??

I have run NOS on my motor as well. KB pop ups hypers. I have a friend who runs factory hypers took them out looked perfect. However forged pistons are way more forgiving:D

I would guess it will make around 375 HP if you dump the offie and go with a victor jr .

my guess is 325-375 depending on who tunes it etc. I do feel that the offy is a bad move, I sold my offy 360 for an air-gap on my 351w and it's a far superior intake. Don't waist your time with the hv oil pump unless you are running large bearing tolerances and a larger oil pan. HV oil pumps also rob more power. Depending on the rpm's your wanting to run, you might want to run better rods...it's definately worth it. And if it's gonna be a high winding engine go with the Vic JR. A set of balanced hyper's give more bang for the buck. Yes forged are stronger, but they are heavy, cost more, and tend to make a lot of noise on cold running due to the expansion rate of the more dense slugs. I didn't see anything about ignition, but this is something to definately be considered. Just my 10 cents.

    new plans

    thanks again for the replies!

I did some changing to my plans( found a little better deal)
I will be using hyperutectic pistons still about 11.1comp.
    stock oil pump
    harland sharp roller rockers
    a little smaller cam
Comp extreme energy adv. dur 284/296 dur@.050 240/246
.541/.544 lift 110 lobe sep. (should match my stall a little better)
my ignition is the original duraspark(recurved & hi output coil) as of now. It will be changed to an MSD 6AL as my budget permits.

only reason for the offy intake I'm already using it on my old engine. I'm probably going to be using the stealth, with a speed demon later this summer when I can afford one. So if anybody wants to buy a used offy 360 with a 625 carter afb let me know I'll give ya a good deal, both are like new! :)
