I run a Boss 302 in my car, completely different torque curve and rpm range than your motor is gonna make, I run a 29X9 tire, with caltracs and koni's, subframe connectors, 8 point bar with connectors, weld drag lites, 7.10 morosos up front. The engine makes 500hp at 8000 rpm, I run a 9" with a mosier axles and a detroit locker, 5.43 gears, a 6000 stahl 7" dynamic converter, and the car runs 10.60 at 126 mph in ok air, puttin the car back together now so well see how it does in better air, should be in the low 50's. best 60ft has been 1.50 or 1.51

    Duane

oh the car weighs 3150 with me in it.

thats a great sounding set up...hoping the car will way 2800-2900 max or less and make about the same power on the motor yours does plus nitrous. so i guess im looking pretty good then. cant wait to finish my car im itching like mad. does a 29x9 fit without mini tubing it? and do you have the mono leafs and are they lower than stock? 1 inch or 2 inch lower? i know they offer both. what is the backspacing on your welds on the rear? thanks

if you havent ported and polished your heads and machined the block tht can give you a good 30 hp gain. if you have then i would go to more perform. parts like a holly 4 barrel efi system, itll prolly give you a decent gain over the classic 750. as for the parker funnel, if ur runnin nos and u havent modified it yourself then the parker funnel has a clover leaf pendulum design tht interfers with the spray bars. this is an easy fix though as u can simply port it and remove some of tht clover leaf.

i have Victor jr. heads that are mildly ported, and also my 750 is a purpose built race carb set up like a super stock carb. choke horn is milled and so on. the parker i am going to be running a halo plate and its a 4 hole perimeter plate. the only thing i am fighting is my elevation lol at 2700 feet we are a little high

At 2700 feet you will need to run smaller jets in the carb than at sea level. Race carbs are generally set rich even at sea level to help prevent preignition and detonation. You may need to dyno the car to find the right jets but if it was properly set at sea level then one to two jets smaller should get you close.
Not a fan of milled air horns - even when done perfectly and the passages into the venturiis is well blended it only gets a maximum of around 5 hp increase. When it is not done right you actually lose power due to the turbulence caused by the sharp edges.

i will be putting the motor on a dyno at the old shop i use to work at. So i will mess with it then... ill also eventually get a dual wide band for the car so i can monitor the AFR's. so im thinkin ill have enough to go high 10's on the motor at 500ft thats what one of our tracks is out here. i just want the car to go high nines on the bottle with a stock 302 block. bottom girdle and valley girdle pro cam valley girdles. We'll see time will tell all... :)

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but just realized you live in Quartz Hill and I was just in Lancaster a week or so ago picking up my transmission from Mike's Transmission..................you were close enough that I could have stopped by and BS'd for awhile...................maybe next time.
