i had my 351 w sitting in the chassis today...looks like the #7 #8 pipe go right over where the stud goes in the block.. (74 block)..my guess maybe I will have to put stud in bellhousing ???? then make everything..what do you think??

    Zbar

I found a company in tennesse that is making new fabricated Zbars for mustangs ..barillaro speed emporium..they have none for mavericks
at this time, they are familar with the crites headers but they told
it is a very tight fit..

I used the stock zbar from a junk yard and for the ball stud I used it from 82 ford pick up and it worked fine the engine from the 83 didn't have a place to screw in the ball stud. The mount went from the bellhousing toward the front and set in the same location as the stock mount. Near as I can tell. It worked fine with the stock manifold and I am in the process of putting on headers and it seems like it is going to work with them also. Not sure if this will help but it is an option to keep an eye out for. Phil

I finally found a maverick v8 zbar after months of searching . I have headman 88300 headers with a 351 base motor the headers were jamming the zbar into the steering box I had to heat and bend the # 7and 8 tubes towards the engine about 3/8" It is still very tight but I think it will work. You would also have to do this with hooker 6901 headers they are very close to having the same configuration as the headmans. I think that they would work fine with a 302 base motor. I would like to have 1-3/4 headers still using the mechanical linkage because I drag race.Murphy 88 has crites header but it sound like he is going with cable linkage.I may have to save my money and have custom headers built. An less any one has any suggestions.
    Thanks, Mark
