No, everyone has to do what I say.

You know, no one has to even post anything here at all if they don't want to, but it's a discussion forum, and that's what it's here for. If I want to express my opinions and try to talk someone out of doing something, that's my perrogative, just as if they want to ignore my point of view, it's their perrogative. Dan's a grown man, and he is fully aware that he does not have to answer to me, or explain himself if he didn't want to...

    To each their own.

But, I'd be remiss if I didn't remind you that Wes has some fender skirts for sale.

<--NVS of multiple Maverick owners. :D

Wow .. that looks like a Ford Maverick Citreon Edition! Fender Skirts and maverick definitely don't mix!

I think it will come out looking nice when it's all done.

Black vinyl top and Grabber stripe on the hood. (y)

Hey...I think you need to go for those skirts. You'd be the only one in the world to have one. Actually, you'd be the only one in the world that would WANT one.:D

Definately put skirts on it, just don't forget the curb feelers and fat white-wall tires.:) Oh and do that flame thrower thing with the tail pipes.(y)

    Kidding

Looks good with the chrome off, the vinyl and hood stripe looks good on there too.

I added to discussion by reminding Dan of his option.

T.L., everybody has opinion on how a car should look. I have two problems with opinions. The first is when someone asks for my opinion and then tells me I'm wrong. Opinions are your thoughts; they are not facts nor necessarily right or wrong answers. The second is how they are sometimes are delivered. You don't mean it I'm sure, but sometimes, when you question why somebody wants to "do that" to their car, it comes across like, "Only a brainless, totally tasteless idiot would even consider doing that to his car." As I said, I'm sure that's not the real opinion; it's just the delivery.

You are not gong to like my '77. I'm leaving the big bumpers, it has a hood with a Comet GT scoop, it's going to have a non-Maverick spoiler on the rear, and it has has 250 ci. It will look mean and, as you said, "without the balls" (except for the mods that have and will be made to the drivetrain). It will be different. No one else will have one. Dan's will be different; like no other. That's the beauty of this car hobby.

re: vinyl top on 'performance' cars
I forgot about the older Charger R/T's having vinyl roofs (not saying the two cars are in the same ballpark - but... you get the idea)

My uncle still has the the '69 SS Camaro he bought brand new. It was blue with white stipes and...white vinyl top. It is still one of the best looking '69 Camaros I've ever seen. Oh, it is equipped with a 375 HP 396 and Muncie 4-speed. It qualifies as a Muscle Car.

Dan, it's your car, do what ever the hell you want with it. (y)

I personally like the vinyl top. Car looks kind of plain without it.

Interesting...I actually like the mockup look, though I don't like vinyl tops. I feel so conflicted. Are you going to rattle can the car after you weld the holes up or have it sprayed by a shop?

I like the vinyl tops, they are making a comeback. Every time I tell someone I'm thinking of putting the vinyl top back on my Grabber they think I'm crazy...but I know it will look sweet.
