So would the proper way would be to run a wires from the mini starter to the S on fender solenoid where my Red /Blue wire is connected to ?
WAIT!!! I messed up, no jumpers, wire it exactly as the diagram, use a #12 wire to activate the solenoid on starter(this is only addition)... Don't change any of the small wires on fender solenoid...
So moved the starter big cable from right siDE to left of starter solenoid. And ran a wire from the right side solenoid down to the S on the mini starter solenoid. ? Correct?
starter just spins just like before sounds like grinding but flex plate is untouched. serp belt starts to spiin for a half a second and freely stops
It's not. I've already checked. It was making the same noise with the last starter. It's not cranking at 12v. It wants to turn over. Around 6 when cranking
How many teeth are on that starter drive??? The origs for 157T C4 flexplate had nine and a spare PMGR I have from Explorer has 10... No idea how many the one on my Comet has, was purchased as working with earlier engine & trans combos...
If the battery voltage is dropping to 6v(as measured on batt post, not terminal) and cables aren't smoking, you likely have a bad battery(yes I know it's new)... Have you pulled plugs to see if it'll spin freely without compression??
No I havent. Sorry for the late response. I've been training the last few months (Army) and haven't had time to work on it. I'm looking to pick up right where we all left off. I'm hoping to get this tackled in the next week or two, or I'm going to have to send it home and have it worked on.
I'll be posting tonight with more pictures and detailed description of where I left off to see where I stand.
