I'd rather drive it than sand it.

    Looking great!

Where did you buy your carpet? And are you pleased with how it fits?

I was going to ask the same thing - especially how it fit over the front of the tunnel since a 1970 has the small tunnel and carpet sets are made for the 71 and up larger tunnels (y)

It's ACC Carpet, just like everything else on the car thus far, it's not done yet, ( just did a quick install to get the carpet out of the box ). I need to take the front seat back out of the car and pull it more to the passenger side, theres a wrinkle on the tunnel that needs to delt with.

I ran the same carpet in 3 other Mavs, once you get it adjusted and trim it out the carpet looks great. It's just to dang cold right now to mess with, i also need to come up with some kind of shift boot trim plate.

That is the same brand carpet I bought but I changed the front of my tunnel over to the larger one so I hope it fits better. My carpet still sits in the box.

I know this the wrong time of the year for something like this but it has been suggested to lay the carpet out in the sun for a few hours and it conforms much better to the smaller 70 tunnel :)

I ordered it for a 1974 Mav ----- Its a 1970 Mav w/ raised tunnel for T-5 Trans, It has already had the exact same brand and year carpet installed to it in 2001. The reason i wanted 74 carpet is cut pile style. :)

Yep, high temps will do wonders for the fit, i just need to get it pulled to the Rh side before the first good warm day of spring time.

I get sick of sanding, staring at new carpet box for a year sucked, i got bored and wanted a quick easy job for the day :)

Also when i fire it up now it's SO MUCH QUIETER, i dont think you would ever hear a fly fart in any of these cars, but carpet and panels do wonders for me when i'm hiding from the wife and smokein a cig in it :)
