there are two studs w/nuts. loosen the nuts and slide the switch up/down to adjust...turn the key into the start position and hold it there as you move the switchm up/down.

got the switch and i put it in would it be having problems running and idling if the switch isn't right?
it was running fine before i put in the new switch (with hot wiring it) would you have any ideas? wire maybe get unplugged? I have messed around with the carb with no luck it is smoking a little out of the carb (i figured just extra gas)
my '74 2 door needs an ignition switch but not sure which part is bad. I have a digital multimeter would I be able to check with that? the guy I bought it from had to jump it at the starter solenoid since turning the key did nothing. any advice?
switch After Checking all That Stuff You Might Want to Try A Ignition Condensor. The Little Can Mounted on the Distributor. It Will Affect the Idle and running. the Distributor Points Get Reduced Voltage Through The Factory Wiring about 6 Volts and You Said it Ran OK with Full Battery Voltage 12+........Just a thought.
no wouldn't do anything in neutral but after reading though this forum and talking to a couple guys on facebook ive found out its the wired pigtail in the column and not the tumbler.
Hi! my 1977 ford maverick failed to retire the key, after some complicated maneuvers and some travel to the parts store, we realized that a piece that links the key and the switch is missing and the switch is also a little bit worn, a new switch may be used? where to buy it? thanks in advance.

I just did my ignition switch last week. I picked it up from NAPA for about $40. Was happy that all the wire colors matched the factory.
I know this is an old post but were there differences in switches over the years? I have a 70 but will any of them work or are they year specific?
