Yes, I thought that name sounded familiar! :)
Sure wish I lived closer to you. I would love to be able to watch this project develop in person. (y)

Like he's said in the past. He had to install something to slow it down. :D

Holy Smokes! That is one awesome project! I never would have thought it possible to squeeze that kind of engine under a Maverick hood. Very cool!

Incredible project! I saw a blurb on it in Hot Rod Magazine just this past month. Looks like they need some updated pictures. Just awesome. Can't wait to see more of it and the finished project!

    The Real Deal

Thanks to everyone for not kicking me out of here, the encouragement means more to me than I can express in this message.
The whole reason for my love of the Maverick is because my Grandfather bought one in 1970, put 180,000 miles on it and and parked it in the weeds for eight years until it became my first car. He taught me the automotive basics and we rebuilt the top-end and carb to get the thing back on the road and I drove it for several years. I have since lost that car to the shredder but found another to go under the torch. My Grampa was yet again a big factor in this choice and I was really wanting and working like crazy to get this thing done before he died but I didn't make it. He died last Thursday here close to me and this last week has been difficult. I don't want to sound corny, but this post has been a real boost to me. Thanks to everyone and this Maverick, even more than before, is for my Grampa!
    Sincerely, Jason
